In order to present updated information that indicate the quality of the water from the Doce River and the sea, four laboratories accredited by Inmetro in accordance with ISO 17025, perform freshwater and marine water monitoring assessments, which are also supervised by various authorities involved in the matter.
Among the works carried out in the Doce River and at sea, water and sediment quality analyses, ecotoxicological tests, chemical characterization of the waste, characterization of soils, sediments and waste, water potability testing, balneability analyses (water quality for bathing/diving purposes), water quality testing for animal watering and irrigation purposes (consumption) are also carried out. All analyzes are carried out observing the existing water quality and sediment legislation.
The current results indicate that the water quality is similar to patterns observed in 2010, as indicated in the report from 12/15/15 of the Geological Survey of Brazil (CPRM).
