Samarco reports that there was a disruption of its tailings dam, called Fundão, located at Germano unit, in the cities of Mariana and Ouro Preto (MG).
The company is mobilizing every effort to prioritize care for people and the mitigation of environmental damage. The authorities were informed and the responsible teams are already in place to provide assistance.
At this time, it is not possible to confirm the causes and dimension of the incident, as well as the existence of victims.
For safety reasons, Samarco reaffirms the importance that there should not be displacement of people to the site of the incident, except the teams involved in emergency care.
