Samarco informs that received the notice from the State Environmental Institute (IEMA), of Espirito Santo, on November 8th, and is already acting on the measures related in the document to mitigate the consequences generated by the advance of turbidity plume through Doce river in the state. The company reiterates that immediate action is already underway and others are being implemented within the time limit set. Until now, the company has not been notified by any non-compliance.
The distribution of water to the municipalities of Colatina and Baixo Guandu was initiated on November 9th, with the provision of 40 water trucks. To comply with the recommendations of the document, the company has also made available an aircraft for overflights in the region and is running, together with IEMA, a monitoring plan involving experts to evaluate the impacts of the passage of the plume. Integrated actions with state and municipal agencies are also being developed.
