In visits to families from the municipality of Bento Rodrigues, Samarco employees and contractors have been recommending all residents to obtain a new copy of their personal documents, which are being issued by the service centers set up in Mariana.
For the issue of new documents, people can go to the Centro de Atendimento ao Cidadão (CAC), at the Mariana City Council, located at Praça Minas Gerais, 89, Downtown. Hours are from Monday through Friday, from 7:30 to 17:00. The telephone number for information is (31) 3557-6210.
The first step is to fill out a Police Report (Boletim de Ocorrência – BO) and obtain copies of birth and marriage certificates. After receiving these documents, the residents can request, at the same location, a new copy of their employment record card, personal ID (RG) and taxpayer registration number/document (CPF).
Between November 9-14, 700 documents were issued, including 440 birth certificates, 150 CPFs, 50 RGs, and 60 work cards.
