Samarco received the positive result of the analysis of the water from the Doce River treated by the local water and sewage utility (Sanear). This means that this utility is authorized to treat the water, on a large scale, for use by the population. Some parts of the city are already receiving treated water and supply is being resumed gradually. It is expected that within the next few days the entire city will have its supply normalized.
Until this takes place, Samarco will be maintaining the delivery of potable water in tank trucks as well as mineral water, at 16 supply points spread throughout the city. Up to the 24thof November, some 80 million liters of potable water had been delivered, plus 1.5 million liters of mineral water.
