Support to families of missing people

26/11/2015

The families of people missing after the accident with the dam in the municipality of Mariana are receiving psychosocial support from professionals specialized in situations of risk. Along with the entire community of the affected areas, they also receive other forms of assistance, such as lodging at local inns, allocation to temporary homes, furniture and appliances, food and a monthly allowance.

In addition, since November 20, Samarco and the Military Fire Department of Minas Gerais are holding daily meetings with the family members of the missing people, informing them about the searches conducted the previous day. This allows them to receive official updates and clear up doubts as to the work being undertaken

To those who lost a family member as a result of the accident, Samarco has paid for all documentation and burial costs. In the case of outsourced employees, the Company provides lodging for people from out of town and complements the life insurance costs to cover burial expenses.
