Reports from Companhia Espírito Santense de Saneamento (Cesan) attest to the potability of water treated by the Serviço Colatinense de Meio Ambiente e Saneamento Ambiental (Sanear). Since Wednesday, November 24th, the water supply in the Municipality of Colatina has been gradually re-established, with estimated regularization still in November. To this end, Samarco conducted a sound work, involving laboratory tests and pilot test to resume intake at the Colatina water treatment plants, also monitoring water quality at two certified laboratories and conducting analyses through experts in water treatment from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). It bears emphasizing that on the first days after the re-establishment of supply, it is common for the water to have a certain odour and yellow colour. Those are effects inherent to the resumption of the process, which pose no risk to the health of the inhabitants and do not prevent consumption.
