Water supply in Colatina (ES) has been fully resumed since last Saturday, November 28th. In parallel with this, and in compliance with a determination of the Public Prosecution Service, mineral water will continue to be distributed at various points in the city. Since Sunday, the 29th, instead of 16 points, the population of Colatina now has 60 points of water distribution in its neighborhoods.
In all, over 300 thousand liters of mineral water are delivered daily to the local population. The delivery is always made at 5 p.m. In order to receive the water, all the resident has to do is go to the point closest to his/her home.
To help with this distribution, Samarco has mobilized a team of over 200 people to work together with the Military Police. Each resident receives two liters of mineral water per day, as provided in the preliminary Term of Socioenvironmental Commitment signed by and between the Company, the Public Prosecution Service of Espírito Santo, the Federal Public Prosecution Service and the Labor Public Prosecution Service.
It is important to point out that the quantity of mineral water that Samarco delivers daily to the municipality is even greater than that required by the Public Prosecution Service. Between November 18-29, over 3.5 million liters of water were delivered in Colatina.
