Emergency procedure

The communities impacted by the accident  in Mariana (MG) were visited by Samarco teams with orientations regarding the emergency procedure. The people informed about thee location and the reach of  the fixed sirens installed and the meeting points at each location.

The additional safety measures were applied by the company as a prevention. It is worth mentioning that the structures of the dams in Santarém and Germano are stable and monitored 24 hours per day. All measures applied are part of the additional emergency procedure created by the company, which counts on the 24-hour monitoring with cameras, large screens, drones and radars, field inspections and visual follow up of the dams in Santarém and Germano.

Besides that, there is a system of alert with fixed sirens installed at the communities and mobile sirens on pick up trucks that travel the region if necessary.
As a safety measure, the Civil Defense, Samarco and other competent bodies are working in the creation of a contingency plan that will describe all measures to be applied to assist on an emergency.
