The failure of the Fundão dam on 05 November 2015 caused a series of socioeconomic and socioenvironmental impacts. Many of them will take time to remedy, but Samarco is committed to their mitigation. This commitment is now being fulfilled by Fundação Renova, which has been in operation since August of this year to lend continuity to the work performed so far by Samarco.
