The Agreement, signed on March 2nd by Samarco, its shareholders (Vale and BHP Billiton), the Federal Government, the governments of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo and other government entities is available here in full for consultation.
The document, approved by Justice on May 5th , defines the creation of a private law Foundation that will be responsible for the creation, management and implementation of 41 socio-environmental and socioeconomic programs that will repair, restore and rebuild the impacts caused by the Fundão dam collapse.
The creation of the Foundation is already underway and it should start operating on August 2nd. The entity shall be composed of Board of Trustees, Executive Board, Advisory Council and Fiscal Council. Also, it will hire technical experts and independent audits.
