Foundation undertakes the continuity of the recovery actions

03/08/2016

The Renova Foundation, created by Samarco, Vale and BHP Billiton to conduct the socioeconomic and socio-environmental repair and recovery programs in the areas affected by the Fundão dam collapse in November of last year, is already in operation. Today, there are 41 programs, of which 93% are already underway.

Headquartered in Belo Horizonte and with offices in Mariana/MG, Governador Valadares/MG and Linhares/ES, the Foundation is a private law and non-profit institution, as provided in the Transaction and Conduct Adjustment Term (TTAC) signed by the three companies, the federal government, the state governments of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, and other federal entities, in March of this year. Get to know here, in full, the Transaction and Conduct Adjustment Term (TTAC), that establishes the Foundation and its programs.

The institution is composed of a Board of Trustees, an Executive Board, an Advisory Council and a Fiscal Council. It was also instituted an Interfederative Committee, an external body, independent from the Foundation, which keeps up with, monitors and supervises the projects executed and which can also count on the work of technical experts and independent auditors as a means to add transparency to its operations.

Brand Meaning

– The word “Foundation”, used in capital letters, refers to the force that the institution should have.

– The division into three parts represents the communities, companies and governments.

– The three colors used refer to the waters of the rivers, the forests and the land.
