Over 220 residents find new jobs

22/01/2016

Residents of Mariana, Barra Longa and other regions impacted by the accident have just found new opportunities on the job market. They have been hired by companies which partner with Samarco, engaged in a variety of work fronts, such as renovation of buildings, fencing and reclaiming rural properties, revegetation, organization of donations and care of rescued animals. By the 22nd of January, 225 positions had been filled, 50 of which to residents of Bento Rodrigues and Paracatu and 175 for those of other districts located along the Doce River.

The assistance to the local communities in finding jobs is part of the Occupation, Employment and Income work front, which interviews people who have had their professional activity impaired and maps new job opportunities. The recovery of a source of income does not interrupt the financial help that the Company is providing to the impacted people.

In addition to helping people find jobs, Samarco this year will offer opportunities of professional skills training and occupation for teenagers and elderly in Mariana and Barra Longa.
