Within the plan to provide alternatives to supply drinking water to the population of Colatina, Samarco is interconnecting six artesian wells of the city to the Water Treatment Plant. With this, a total volume of 39 liters/according to the supply system will be added, which is equivalent to approximately 13% of the demand in Colatina.
From the six artesian wells, four will send water to the North Wing Water Treatment Plant (flow of 32.1 liters/second,) and one to the South Wing Water Treatment Station (flow of 4.8 liters/second.)
The south wing well is already operating, while the one in Columbia is in the process of interconnection. The north wing wells will be interconnected to the adductor system.
Currently, projects are also being developed and materials are being purchased for the construction of adductors in the municipality.
These investments are part of the Restructuring Plan that Samarco executes in the cities impacted by the accident. Other cities of Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais have received similar investments.
