Bridge rebuilt

11/12/2015

Today, December 11, the access to the Bucão Bridge was authorized, which connects the communities of Paracatu de Baixo, Pedras and Borba a Águas Claras and Campinas, sub-districts of Mariana (MG).

With a length of 16 meters and load capacity of 70 tons, the structure was rebuilt in 7 days using beams and masonry surface, substituting the previous one, which was made of wood.

This is the second bridge delivered by Samarco after the accident of the dam. The first, which connects the sub-districts of Águas Claras and Monsenhor Horta, was open on December 5. One more structure in Campinas (MG) is expected to be open this month.

The company is working to rebuild the seven old bridges until the end of January 2016. Besides the seven bridges, the team of Samarco recovered a path that connects the district of Monsenhor Horta to the sub-district of Paracatu de Baixo two days after the accident.
