The Campinas bridge, linking the communities of Campinas and Barretos, sub-districts of Mariana (MG), was opened to traffic on 20 December. With a span of 22 m and load capacity of 70 tons, the structure was rebuilt within 13 days, using steel beams and concrete flooring.
This is the third bridge delivered by Samarco after the Fundão dam accident. The first, linking the sub-districts of Aguas Claras and Monsenhor Horta, was opened on December 5th. And the second, linking Pedras and Borba to Aguas Claras and Campinas, was opened on December 11th. The next structure to be finished is the Onça bridge in Barra Longa (MG).
We are working hard so that the other affected bridges will be rebuilt by the end of January 2016. in addition to the seven larger bridges, the Samarco team restored a small one which links the district of Monsenhor Horta to the sub-district of Paracatu de Baixo, two days after the accident.
