Priority actions in Barra Longa

Samarco reports that the city of Barra Longa (MG) has received all necessary efforts for cleaning and maintenance. In addition, about 300 Samarco employees and contractors are working in cleaning and rebuilding the roads and houses. Since November 9th, the company has sent each day, an average of 40 professionals to contribute to the necessary tasks.

In order to assist the affected families, Samarco has distributed, through Barra Longa City Council, three thousand basic food good baskets, a thousand mattresses, about 9,0000 liters of cleaning supplies, 48,000 liters of mineral water, also items for household cleaning such as brooms, buckets and dustpan. In addition, until the affected residences are restored for housing, Samarco is providing rented houses, furnished and equipped with appliances. The affected families will also receive visits from social workers in the coming weeks.

We also inform that the company is daily meeting with representatives of Civil Defense and Barra Longa City Council to continue the work that has been done in the city and to score priority actions. In a conversation this Sunday, November 15th, the company announced that have been made available environmental experts to find alternatives to the situation arising from the accident with the dams in Mariana (MG). It is now also being held a drain near Barra Longa Chapel, in order to release the drains and sewers of the city.

The work on the children school building has already started and completion is forecasted for this Wednesday, November 18th. In addition, all children will receive a school supplies kit with backpack, notebook, pencil, colored pencils and pens.
