Since November 5th, after the Fundão Dam burst, Samarco has been dedicated to repair environmental impacts. The action front aiming at the revegetation of the affected areas is part of the socio-environmental programs under the Agreement signed by the company with the Federal Government, the governments of the states of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo and others entities.
The 1st revegetation stage aims at improving soil conditions and assisting in the containment of sediments to watercourses.
To date, 700 hectares along the Doce, Carmo and Gualaxo rivers were revegetated. Understand how this work is being carried out in the video below:
