Since December 29th, the municipality of Galileia (MG) has a new temporary public service center sponsored by Samarco. For 15 days, the local population will be able to get information about the potability of the water after the resumption of supply by the local water treatment plant. The structure is set up at Praça São Pedro, close to the Forum, and is open from Monday to Saturday.
In addition to the public service center, a car with a public address system is going around the streets of the city providing information about the potability of the water. The measures are part of a Conduct Adjustment Agreement (TAC) signed with the Public Prosecution Service of the State of Minas Gerais, specifically for the city of Galileia.
The public service center is open Monday through Friday from 8 to 6 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8 to noon. It is closed on Sundays and holidays. In addition to providing information about water treatment, the residents are able to learn more about the social and environmental compensation actions which are being carried out by the Company.
Samarco also provides other channels of public service – its 24-hour Public Relations Center available on toll free line 0800-0312303, and e-mail contact relacionamento@samarco.com, and the Ombudsman, available on 0800-7210717.
Other municipalities along the Doce River, such as Colatina, Baixo Guandu and Linhares, also have public service centers.
