Samarco is working with Barra Longa City Hall against the Aedes aegypti mosquito in the municipality. 1,230 properties will be inspected by a team of six community agents, one endemic agent and one epidemiology nurse coordinator of the Municipal Department of Health, reinforced by four employees and a vehicle assigned by the company as of Monday, January 18.
With the urban clean-up task force, which began on Monday, January 11, nearly 150 kg of rubble have already been collected from homes and lands in Barra Longa. The endemic disease agent is applying larvicide at locations with water and has not found signs or outbreaks of mosquito larva.
