A bridge every fifteen days

Since the accident with the Fundão dam on 5 November, Samarco made a concentrated effort and, at the rate of one delivery every 15 days, on 15 February it concluded the rebuilding of the last damaged bridge. In all, seven larger bridges were reconstructed in Minas Gerais – four in Mariana and three in Barra Longa.

The last bridge to be rebuilt was Curvina, between the road that links Barra Longa to the district of Gesteira, and the road between Barra Longa and Acaiaca. The steel beam and concrete bridge has a capacity of 45 tons and a length of 37 meters.

On 6 February, delivery was made on the bridge in the district of Gesteira, 38 m long with a load capacity of 45 tons.

In addition to these, the Company recovered a small structure that links the district of Monsenhor Horta to the sub-district of Paracatu de Baixo, two days after the accident.
